The Valley Blue Sox were named Perfect Game’s 2018 Collegiate Summer Team of the Year. The Blue Sox paced the league with a 30-12 regular season record before winning all four of their postseason games en route to a second straight NECBL championship!

The 2019 season will represent the Blue Sox 10th season in the Pioneer Valley, playing at Mackenzie Stadium in Holyoke. The Blue Sox have been a member of the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) since 2008. The NECBL is one of three collegiate leagues funded in part by Major League Baseball and is comprised of 13 teams throughout all 6 New England States.

Blue Sox and NECBL players come from the top college programs across the country, some of which are drafted into Major League Baseball. In all, twenty-nine of the thirty teams in Major League Baseball have had NECBL alums on their rosters.

Summer Collegiate Baseball Register has named the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) the second best summer collegiate baseball league in the country, trailing only the Cape Cod Baseball League.
The Valley Blue Sox are one of 13 teams who play in the NECBL, which hosts teams in all six New England states.  This past weekend, league Commissioner, Sean McGrath, announced that the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks are joining the NECBL and will compete in the 2019 season.
