“Destination America,” a play performed in Polish & English (with English subtitles) about famous Polish immigrants.
The New England Air Museum is proud to announce a special theatrical performance, “ESCAPE,” presented by the renowned Teatr Wyobrazi Novum on Sunday, November 5, 2023. This captivating show, part of the “DESTINATION AMERICA” project, explores the remarkable and often poignant stories of immigrants who embarked on their journey to achieve the “American Dream.”The stories presented in “ESCAPE” are based on the memories of local immigrant’s stories that will touch your heart and resonate with your own family’s immigration experiences. The performance will also feature notable Polish and immigrant figures such as Helena Modrzejewska, Henryk Sienkiewicz, Tamara Łempicka, and Czesław Miłosz. The play sheds light on the motivations and challenges faced by these individuals, emphasizing their determination and adaptability as they pursued their dreams in a new land.
“ESCAPE” will be presented in both Polish and English, ensuring that the rich storytelling can be enjoyed by a wide audience. For the convenience of our English-speaking guests, the performance will include a full English translation on screen, allowing everyone to connect with the moving narratives.
Before the performance, we invite our guests to explore the New England Air Museum’s special exhibition featuring The Kosciuszko Squadron, a renowned unit of Polish airmen who made a significant contribution during World War II. This pre-show opportunity offers a unique glimpse into aviation history and the courage of those who served.
