Special Art Activity: Banned Books Week

Join us for a postcard and button activity in the Art Studio! We’ll be making “Thank You For Letting Me Read” postcards to mail to librarians throughout the state, recognizing them for all the work they do providing kids with free books to read every day! Authors will be on hand to help ignite creativity and make buttons for kids to take home, including creators Gwen Agna, Michelle Cusolito, Gayle Forman, Alex Graudins, Shawn Peters, Sarah Prager, Mk Smith Despres, Federico Erebia, and Colleen AF Venable.

Who You’ll Meet

Authors Against Book Bans (AABB)

Authors Against Book Bans (AABB) is a group of writers, illustrators, and other book creators who stand for the freedom to read; they oppose any attempts to censor or ban books. They support the availability of diverse voices on public and school library shelves. As authors and as members of local and national communities, they pledge to protect the rights of all young people to access the books they need and deserve.
