Annual Franklin County Fair

September 5 - September 8

The 175th Franklin County Fair, the oldest continuously running county fair in the United States. The fair was named by Globe Magazine as one of the “10 Great New England Fairs” in 2015. Every fair food imaginable, midway rides, entertainment of all kinds from bands to roaming clowns to a ventriloquist, demotion derby, livestock shows, horse draws, truck pull, and much more.

Franklin County Fair Hours

  • Thursday: Gate opens at 3pm
  • Friday: Gate opens at 3pm
  • Saturday: Gate opens at 8am
  • Sunday: Gate opens at 8am

There is no set closing time for the fair, though generally it’s open until at least 9pm on Thursday and Sunday, and at least 10pm on Friday and Saturday. Poor weather may result in an earlier closing time.

The Franklin County Fair is run by the Franklin County Agricultural Society, an organization that provides education and opportunities for all members of the community — including agriculture, youth, organizations, businesses, families, elders and others; shows our commitment to working in partnership with the community by encouraging their participation and support; recognizes our responsibility to improve and maintain our grounds and programs while continuing our financial stability.
