Important Timing Note: Please consult a map along with our directions. Due to schedules from power company dams, we have a limited window to meet our trips. It is your responsibility to arrive on time. The trips cannot wait for latecomers.

From Massachusetts

FROM BOSTON: 2 OPTIONS

Approximate time 2.5 hours—Take Rte 2 West directly to Charlemont. Our base is on Rte 2. Be careful, Rte 2 converges with I-91 just before Greenfield, MA. Follow Rte 2 / I-91 South for 2 miles. Take exit 26 in Greenfield and continue on Rte 2 West. Our base is about 11 miles west of Greenfield on the left side of Rte 2.

Approximate time 2.5 hours—Take I-90 West to I-91 North in Springfield. Proceed North to exit 26 in Greenfield, Ma. Go around the rotary and pick up Rte 2 West. Our Base is about 11 miles west of Greenfield on the left side of Rte 2.

FROM SPRINGFIELD:

Approximate time 1 hour—Take I-91 North to Exit 26 in Greenfield. Go around the rotary and pick up Rte 2 west. Our base is about 11 miles west of Greenfield on the left side of Rte 2.

Join Crab Apple May 4 or 5 at Mt. Snow Ski Resort to begin your trip down the beautiful  West River. We raft the West River on scheduled dam releases provided by the Army Corp of Engineers. The West offers a unique trip combining eight miles of continuous Class III intermediate action with some bigger whitewater in rapids such as “Landslide” and “The Dumplings”. Dead River trips begin with anticipation (the energy is palpable before a big water release on the Dead!) and a hearty breakfast in our base lodge (included with rafting and lodging packages) before each rafter gears up into comfortable river gear and listens to safety instruction from the day's trip leader. Our 13 foot, 6 person Go For It rafts are the shortest allowed by the state of Maine. These rafts give the Kennebec and Dead Rivers a whole new look – waves and holes like “Big Mama” and “Magic Falls” swallow these smaller boats making for some of the wildest rides of the season. The Monroe Bridge trip is full of big waves and fast whitewater rafting action! The fun starts right below the Monroe Bridge dam with Class II warm-up rapids and then leads to a stretch of bigger Class III drops such as “Devil’s Odds” and “Landslide”.
