Founded in 1885, American International College (AIC) is a private, co-educational, master’s institution located in Springfield, Massachusetts. AIC is an interfaith, interracial, and international educational institution comprised of the School of Business, Arts and Sciences, the School of Health Service, and the School of Graduate and Adult Education. AIC supports and advances education, diversity, and opportunity for its students and the community.
The Edvocate, an online education magazine, has named American International College (AIC) among the best colleges and universities for people with disabilities. The Edvocate highlighted institutions that have multiple programs, policies, and measures in place to help people with disabilities succeed in higher education. AIC placed in the top 10.
The Center for Accessibility Services and Academic Accommodations (CASAA), provides both academic and physical accommodations. CASAA provides resources, training, and direct services to ensure people with disabilities have a greater opportunity to achieve their goals, while the Supportive Learning Services program is a fee-based program that helps students with learning challenges achieve their dream of completing college successfully. The second of its kind in the country, SLS celebrated its 40th anniversary in 2018.
While AIC’s first commitment will be to the institution’s academic and theater offerings, the college will open remaining available dates for external rentals.
Event spaces on the main campus vary in capacity and include venues such as the Esther B. Griswold Theatre, seating nearly 500; the Schwartz Campus Center Auditorium; the newly renovated Stinger Pub; the West Wing Gallery; conference rooms; and classrooms. In addition, facility rentals will be available at the athletic complex located on Cortland Street. Free parking is conveniently located near campus venues.
