Welcome to the 57th Anniversary season of Sevenars!
Members of the Schrade and James families, as the nucleus of Sevenars, have played the opening concert for all of Sevenars’ 57 years – in addition to acclaimed concerts at Lincoln Center in NY (along with recordings and TV and radio broadcasts) and their additional solo, chamber, and concerto performances internationally (
see our home page for history). This year’s program, “Family and Friends” will continue the tradition with special guest artists in an exciting and varied program. Rorianne Schrade, Lynelle James, and Christopher James will all be at the piano, and violinist Alexis Walls and pianist Clifton J. (“Jerry”) Noble, Jr. com will add their tremendous gifts to the mix! Alexis will collaborate with pianist Lynelle in Ravel’s blues-infused Sonata No. 2, as part of what will be a continued tribute to Ravel’s sesquicentennial, and Rorianne will team up with Jerry who will add his special flair to the Gershwin-Grainger “Fantasy on Porgy and Bess.” There will also be music of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor whom we also honor at age 150, plus solos of Liszt, additional pieces by Ravel, and more (with always some only-at-Sevenars surprises as well). We look forward to seeing you!
