South Hadley, Independence Day
The annual fireworks show in South Hadley has been delayed due to uncertain weather conditions in the area, the show was scheduled for Thursday, July 3, will now happen on Saturday, July 5.
The 2025 fireworks will be held on July 3, 2025 with a rain date of July 5, 2025. Festivities will start at 5pm with the fireworks commencing at 9:30pm.
The South Hadley fireworks are held annually at the Michael E. Smith Middle School located on 100 Mosier Street.
The evening will include food trucks, vendors, rides, games, face painting and a live DJ, will begin at 5 p.m. with fireworks beginning at 9:30 p.m. The South Hadley Community Band will also perform from 8 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
People are encouraged to bring a blanket and/or chairs and plenty of bug spray! Being on school grounds, alcohol and tobacco products are not allowed.
The day commemorates the adoption of the Declaration of Independence by the 13 former British colonies on July 4, 1776.
Massachusetts became the first state to recognize the Fourth of July as a statewide holiday in 1781.
