Our 28th Anniversary Celebration

Glasgow Lands Scottish Festival is the only Scottish Festival in Massachusetts, and the second largest one in New England. We are proud to have been bringing world class Scottish Arts to the Pioneer Valley for 27 years.

The Highland Games, dating back some 900 years to Scottish King Malcom Canmore, who devised the first Scottish Games, which serve as the centerpiece of the popular area Scot fest. World-class athletes from around the country – displaying a combination of strength and athleticism – will participate in stone throwing, weight tossing, hammer-throwing and sheaf tossing competitions.

There will also be all kinds of competitions throughout the day including pipe bands, Highland dancers, drum majors and more.

For an authentic taste of Scotland, vendors will be cooking up some traditional fare from bridies to meat pies and from fish and chips to Haggis. For sweet tooth’s, there will also be homemade Scottish shortbread and Welsh cookies, as well as ice cream, donuts and more alongside American fare like hamburgers, onion rings, grilled cheese and more.

Gates open at 9AM. The official opening ceremonies – featuring Clans bellowing out their battle cries, pipe bands marching in en masse, caber tossing, animals and more at 11:30AM.
