March is Irish Heritage Month and in Western Mass we have plenty of ways to celebrate!

St. Patrick’s Day Drive-by Parade at the Eastern States Exposition
Get in the St. Patty’s Day spirit on March 13^th spirit by driving through the fairgrounds to wave to our local parade marshals, colleens & courts. This St. Patrick’s Day Drive-by Parade is organized by W. Springfield’s St. Patrick’s Parade Committee. Bring a non-perishable food item and help the colleens fight hunger. Enter through Gate 1. Virtual St. Patrick’s Day Road Race
On March 20^th, runners are encouraged to get out and run a 10K for St. Patrick’s Day. Create your own 10K route (or use the official Holyoke Road Race route!) and compete against other runners. For just a $25 entry fee, you’ll receive a familiar looking t-shirt, printable custom bib number, free beer, and local giveaways. The St. Patrick’s Road Race Committee will even buy you a beer by providing gift certificates and prizes that support businesses around the finish line in Holyoke.

Yankee Candle
Yankee Candle celebrates all things green with their new collection of St. Patrick’s Day candles and accessories. Top off your visit by raising a glass at the Powder Hollow Brewery right on the Yankee Candle Village campus.

Dine-In or Take-Out
What’s more traditional than corned beef and cabbage in the month of March?! Western Mass has plenty of options for dining in or take-out including Munich Haus serves corned beef and cabbage lunch and dinner from March 16-21.   Champney’s Restaurant at The Deerfield Inn celebrates St. Patrick’s Day with live Irish music and special menu additions with an Irish twist!

Raise a Pint
Looking to raise a pint in a toast to Irish Heritage? Check out this great selection of local craft breweries on our Western Mass Beer Trail. Or pop into MGM Springfield for a Shamrock Sour. At The Delaney House you can do it all at their Eat, Drink & Be Irish celebration from March 17-21.
