Road Trip Blog #12: Socially Distanced But 100% On-brand

We know you’re a little nervous about your getaway in the time of COVID but rest-assured that our Western Mass partners will do all the right things and they’ll remain completely on-brand as they take all the necessary safety precautions!

We’ve rounded-up all the protocols for our tourism partners here but let’s take a closer look at some of the ways our attractions are getting our attention.

MGM Springfield: the iconic MGM lion says it all! Slot machines have been closed off to promote social distancing as well as plexiglass being put up between machines and between players and dealers for added safety.

You’ll see several handwashing and sanitizing stations throughout the facility.

Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame: What better way to illustrate social distancing recommendations than by showing the wingspan of WNBA and NBA players?

The Hall is also providing a stylus to each guest enabling them to get the full effect of the newly reimagined attraction without touching the touchscreens with their hands.

Amazing World of Dr. Seuss Museum and the Springfield Museums: How do you illustrate social distancing at a museum celebrating the life of Springfield’s own Theodor (Seuss) Geisel? With Grinch feet, of course!  Those Grinch feet will take you on a journey throughout the 5-Museum campus that includes the Seuss Museum, Springfield Science Museum, Michele & Donald D’Amour Museum of Fine Art, George Walter Vincent Smith Art Museum, Lyman & Merrie Wood Museum of Springfield History and Dr. Seuss National Memorial Sculpture Garden.

Berkshire East Mountain Resort: For our adventurous friends, Berkshire East demonstrates optimum social distance with a kayak! Just keep a kayak-length away from the others and you’ll be in compliance. While you’re there, check out their adventure coaster, zip-lines, mountain bike trails and – when it gets really cold – ski slopes!

In Western Mass, our attractions, hotels, shops and restaurants put your safety first and are ready to greet you with great, big masked smile! For more information about Western Mass, click here.
