The Pioneer Valley Transit Authority is the largest regional transit authority in Massachusetts with 188 buses, 141 vans, and 24 participating member communities. PVTA provides fixed-route bus and ADA demand-responsive van service. Funding comes from federal, state and local governments as well as farebox and advertising revenues. PVTA was created to provide oversight and coordination of public transportation within the Pioneer Valley region.
