It doesn’t get any bigger or any more Irish than the Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Holyoke, Mass. This year the parade falls on St. Patrick’s Day. This is the 68th year of the parade which brings thousands of marchers, over 25 floats, marching bands and Colleens from the surrounding communities. Holyoke welcomes more than 400,000 spectators and more than 1.2 million watching from home. The day before the parade thousands come out for the annual 10k Road Race which has become the largest race in Western Mass.

Feel the luck of the Irish at Delaney’s Market at the Longmeadow Shops. Come by March 14th starting at 4pm for a beer tasting provided by Harpoon Brewery. They will be presenting a timely brew called the Craic. In case you didn’t know, Craic is Irish slang for fun! View Event Flyer

On the eve of St. Patrick’s Day, enjoy a special Irish dinner buffet with all your favorites in the Oliver Wight Tavern at Old Sturbridge Village. Dinner begins at 6:00 p.m. with the concert to follow. After your meal, catch a ride on the horse-drawn carryall to transport you to the candlelit Center Meetinghouse where the celebration continues. Back by popular demand, Full Gael will perform Celtic favorites as only they can. Full Gael features Joe Fox on concertina, Gary Palmer on guitars/vocals and Will O’Hare on flute/vocals.

The Irish Cultural Center invites you to TWO evenings with the YankCelt Band on March 8 and 15 at the ICC’s Irish House Restaurant and Trinity Pub at 429 Morgan Road, West Springfield, MA. The shows begin at 6:00 pm.

The Pub opens at 3:00 pm, dinner service begins at 4:30 pm.
