ANNOUNCING THE 2021 GSCVB “HOWDY HERO AWARD”

The Greater Springfield Convention and Visitors Bureau proudly announces a special new one-time recognition that will be presented in November 2021 – The “Howdy Hero Award.”

Why are we creating this award? The Covid-19 pandemic profoundly impacted the travel and tourism business sector of Western Mass. Despite these unprecedented challenges, the GSCVB witnessed countless examples of innovation, re-invention and re-imagination as our hospitality providers large and small fought around the clock to both keep their doors open and serve their guests and customers. Regrettably, we have pushed the “pause” button once again and the next Howdy Awards for Hospitality Excellence Awards dinner gala is officially postponed until 2022. However, we cannot let these visionary heroes of hospitality go unrecognized, and so the “Howdy Hero Award” will be given this fall.

Who is eligible for nomination? Any primarily hospitality-focused business, entity or organization of any size in Western Mass is eligible to be nominated for consideration by our panel of judges. This includes attractions, accommodations, eateries, entertainment facilities, events venues and organizers, transportation providers, suppliers, clubs/associations and more.
