February vacation is approaching. Just because it’s winter, there’s no need to stay cooped up in the house. Here are 14 great Western Mass spots for kids!
At the Holyoke Mall -
Billy Beez, “The Kids Choice”
Tire the kids out and watch them run, crawl, climb, and jump through the 25,000 sq. ft. indoor adventure land. All ages are welcome and there’s even an infant and toddler area. The park is open Monday through Thursday, 10 am to 8 pm, Friday & Saturday from 10 am to 9:30 pm and Sunday from 10 am to 7 pm. Build-A-Bear-Workshop
This workshop doesn’t require as much energy as running around Billy Beez, however your kids will still make their own fun. You can even “celeBEARate” any special occasion by having a party and create a personal furry friend! Kids enjoy being creative and adding scents, accessories, outfits and more to their new friend. Open Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 9:30 pm and Sunday 11 am to 6 pm. All animals (yes, they are other animals to choose from) vary in price. Check their website for coupons and sales!
Round1, Bowling & Amusement

There are seven escape rooms to choose from here and all different levels of difficulty to choose from. You have 50 minutes to solve the puzzle and escape! Flight Fit & Fun
This indoor adventure park features virtual reality games, ninja warrior courses, trampolines, dodgeball, climbing structures, and laser maze. Get a workout in for the whole family! Tykes Tuesday featuring Forest Park’s Zoo on the Go
Starting on February 18th the Forest Park Zoo will be visiting the Holyoke Mall with some friendly animals. This is a special event for those on February Vacation and will take place from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM! Forest Park will present some of their animal ambassadors from their Zoo in Springfield. There will also be face painting provided by Dazzle Day and a fun craft provided by Macaroni Kid! You must register beforehand here.
At the Hampshire Mall -
Lazer Blast at Interskate91 North
This ancient adventure themed laser tag is open Monday for private events (birthdays parties etc), Tuesday from 4 pm to 9 pm, Wednesday you must “call for time”, Thursday & Friday 4 pm to 10 pm and Saturday 11 am to 10 pm and Sunday 10 to 6 pm. At the Springfield Museums –
Join Buddy and take your kids to the “Traveling Dinosaur Exhibit” at the museums. They will learn about the time of the dinosaurs with Buddy the dinosaur, unearth fossils and learn about life science. More details here.
At Historic Deerfield –
Learn about what life was like for the kids in the 1700s by dressing up in colonial clothes, learn how to write with a quill pen and more fun activities will be available. Open to people of all ages and each child must be accompanied by an adult. For more information.
At Old Sturbridge Village –
Experience the “Winter, Warmth & Cheer” play. Guests will be treated with a festive story/theatrical performance in which people of the 19th century New England get ready for a winter ball! More information here
