Join the Halloween festivities at Wistariahurst by dropping in during our free open hours on Halloween night, from 4:30-6:30pm. It’s a perfect opportunity for the whole family to celebrate the holiday.
As you visit, be sure to explore the mesmerizing “Death of Lake Cahuilla” exhibit, a journey into the transformation of Lake Cahuilla, now known as the Salton Sea, in California’s Imperial Valley. This immersive art exhibition uses various mediums, including painting, digital art, sculpture, and multimedia installations, to delve into the impact of colonization and environmental degradation on the land and its indigenous communities. It’s a thought-provoking experience that encourages reflection on the historical and ecological layers of the region, while also celebrating indigenous resilience and inspiring action for cultural preservation and sustainable practices.
And that’s not all! You’ll also have the chance to view the Holyoke Community Ofrenda, a beautiful tribute created during our Calaveras event on October 22nd. It’s a wonderful way to connect with the rich cultural tradition of honoring loved ones who have passed on. To make your visit even sweeter, there might be some treats waiting for you to enjoy. So, bring the family, immerse yourself in art and culture, and celebrate Halloween with us at Wistariahurst. We can’t wait to welcome you!
