The Jack Rome Memorial Walk/Run is back!

Jack Rome Memorial Walk/Run

Join us on Sunday, May 5th at Fountain Park, 883 Tinkham Rd in Wilbraham, MA for a Walk/Run that benefits the animals in need at TJO! This year’s event features a 5K run, a 1 mile walk, and a new 10K option!

The Jack Rome Memorial 5K is an event the whole family can participate in… even the pups! In fact, we encourage all dogs to bring their families! Loads of fun activities for the kids, and goodies for the pups.

EVENT DETAILS:

  • Registration begins at 8:30am.
  • Event kick off at 10:00am.
  • Early bird registration February 1– March 23 $30, includes event t-shirt.
  • Registration March 24– April 28 $35, includes event t-shirt.
  • Registration April 29 until day of event – $35, t-shirts available to purchase while supplies last.
  • Registration for the 10K is $35 for early birds and $40 thereafter.
  • Children under 12 are free!

Refreshments will be served after the race. Goodie bags for all participants.

Who we are:

The Foundation for TJO Animals, is dedicated to raising much needed funds to help animals in need at the Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control and Adoption Center, which serves the cities of Springfield, Holyoke and Chicopee, Massachusetts. With a focus on providing financial assistance and grants for veterinary care, the Foundation has had a direct impact on saving the lives of animals at the shelter.

Your support enables the Foundation to continue to fund specialized surgeries and diagnostics, now including on-site radiographs, medical equipment, comprehensive testing, emergency clinics as needed, medications and medical supplies, high-quality on-site veterinary care, enrichment supplies that provide comfort and reassurance while in the shelter, and more.

The Thomas J. O’Connor Animal Control & Adoption Center and the Foundation for TJO Animals work TOGETHER every day to save the lives of thousands of local animals in need. This past year 1417 animals found loving homes, and 1085 medical procedures were performed by the TJO veterinary team. The incredible animal control officers responded to nearly 5,400 calls from the community needing assistance.
