December 1 - December 9
DecemberFest kicks-off on Dec. 1 with Santa’s Family Workshop, the lantern light parade and tree lighting. The festival reflects the spirit of the season and features some of the city’s favorite traditions, including the lantern light parade that precedes the annul tree lighting, holiday house tour, menorah lighting, holiday markets and crafts shows and, for the first time, Westfield’s Tree Jubilee.
Westfield’s Tree Jubilee, at the Rinnova Building at 105 Elm St., runs through Dec. 9. Hours will be Thursdays and Fridays from noon to 7 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The parade will step off that night at 6:15 downtown. Marchers will parade from Franklin Street to Park Square where Mayor Brian P. Sullivan will host the tree-lighting ceremony at 6:30.
Musical entertainment will be provided by the Westfield High School Show Choir led by director Korey Bruno, and the New England Dance Center Dance Team, choreographed by director Lesley Lambert.
Other DecemberFest events include the menorah lighting ceremony on Dec. 4 at 6:30 p.m. at Park Square, a holiday concert on Dec. 9 at 7 p.m. at the Catherine Dower Center for the Performing and Fine Arts at Westfield State University, the holiday house tour, also on Dec. 9, from noon to 4 p.m. and more.
