The Elm Chamber Ensemble: Beethoven Brahms, and Turina
Sevenars is delighted to be presenting the new Elm Chamber Ensemble, with two Sevenars returnees, violinist Joel Pitchon Pitchon (“superb playing” N. Y. Times) and cellist extraordinaire Volcy Pelletier (member of numerous illustrious ensembles including the noted Laurentian String Quartet and on the faculty of Smith College with Joel). They will be joined by prizewinning Georgian-born American Yelena Beriyeva “the paragon of the concert pianist” (L.A. Examiner), in a stunning program, including Beethoven’s magnificent Piano Trio in E-flat, Op. 70, No. 2 as a postponed commemoration of Beethoven’s 250th anniversary. In addition, they will perform the Brahms Piano Trio in C Major Op.87, one of the masterworks of the chamber literature, and music of the exciting Spanish composer Joaquin Turina, his Piano Trio No 2 in B minor Op.76. All three performers are musical leaders performing, teaching and recording in the area, and not to be missed
