Deborah Jack Screening and Conversation
Graham Auditorium, Hillyer Hall
Join artist Deborah Jack for a film screening and discussion with Simone Cambridge (UMass) on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 5pm in Graham Hall.
This event is part of Art Stockings: Dialogues on Art, Gender, and Cultural Theory. Created by Professor Alex Callender, Art Stockings invites a diverse group of women-identified and nonbinary artists to talk about their work, ideas and process.
Deborah Jack’s visit coincides with the exhibition of her video, the water between us remembers, so we carry this history on our skins, long for a sea-bath and hope that the salt will heal what ails us (2018), at SCMA through February 4, 2024.
Smith College Museum of Art (SCMA) is free to all starting immediately! SCMA ends paid admission to all activities including exhibitions, public programming and art-making to provide access and inclusion in the arts.
Thousands of visitors annually enjoy programming, exhibitions and installations curated from 28,000 objects and artworks in the SCMA collection. Free admission has been made possible by Smith alumnae Jan Fullgraf Golann ’71 and Jane Timken ‘64.
