Northampton, DoozyDo Parade
September 17 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm EDT
The DoozyDo Parade, scheduled to take place rain or shine, will step off at 11 a.m. Sept. 17 from the Northampton Center for the Arts, 33 Hawley St., and travel through downtown to Pulaski Park. Former longtime City Councilor Bill Dwight and actress/comedian Kelsey Flynn are set to serve as “Grand-ish Marshals” of the lighthearted event.
Organizers encourage participants to form teams with kid-friendly, apolitical concepts. Marchers are asked to make a minimum contribution of $10 each to Northampton Neighbors. Children 12 and under can march for free, as can teams from nonprofit organizations.
Northampton Neighbors’ DoozyDo Parade is a joyful, inclusive, unconventional celebration in—and of—the City of Northampton, featuring people of all ages, local organizations, and businesses. Come enjoy local bands and musicians, roller derby devotees, bagpipers, floats and antique cars, and teams of kids, adults and seniors parading in ridiculous regalia.
This festival of silliness will connect us as a community while raising awareness and financial support for Northampton Neighbors, a volunteer-based organization providing free programs and services to help seniors in Northampton, Florence, and Leeds live independent, engaged lives in their homes and communities.
