Children from throughout the Northern Berkshire’s are encouraged to make costumes and enter the parade. This year’s theme is Once Upon a Time in North Berkshire, a celebration of children’s books and fairy tales.

Fall Foliage Festival Children’s Road Race and Fair
Noel Field Athletic Complex, 310 State Street, North Adams (rain location: North Adams Armory)

Children’s Road Race, give-aways, games, entertainment for children of all ages. Booths hosted by the Northern Berkshire United Way and local community organizations. Children’s Road Race starts at 11:30 am (registration begins at 10:15 am).
Since 1955, North Adams has held a special week of events showcasing the beauty of autumn in North Adams. Complete with a children’s fair, road race, craft fair and performances, the Fall Foliage Festival is fun for the whole family.
The highlight of the Fall Foliage Festival is the Fall Foliage Parade that takes place on the first Sunday of October.

“Once Upon a Time in North Berkshire” celebrating children’s books and fairytales. Interpret this theme however you like in your float, costume, and more!
You won’t want to miss the glorious fall foliage in Massachusetts. From the iconic scenery of the Berkshires to the charming small towns you’ll find across the state, there is plenty to do and see this autumn.
The season starts in mid-to-late September, and peak color often coincides with Columbus Day weekend. In 2023, leaves will start to change at the end of September and we’ll see peak foliage in much of Massachusetts during the first week of October – but you should be able to see pretty colors throughout the state until Halloween.
