Join FirstLight’s Northfield Mountain at the Turners Falls Fishway for Fish Printing for all ages. This fun activity combines science and art through the traditional Japanese practice of Gyotaku, or fish printing. Discover the intricate beauty and important function of fish fins and scales. Learn about resident fish as well as the migratory fish that return to the Connecticut River to lay their eggs.
Drop-in anytime between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. at the Turners Falls Fishway (15 First Street, Turners Falls) to create your work of art on paper using scientifically accurate replicas of Connecticut River fish. This event is part of the 15th Annual Family Fish Day organized by the Great Falls Discovery Center. Families can bring along a picnic and enjoy our beautiful riverside picnic area adjacent to the Fishway. In case of rain, the event will take place at the Great Falls Discovery Center.
