Cooking with Apples and Cider November 2
Apples were part of everyday life in colonial New England. English settlers grew apples in family orchards and squeezed the apples to make cider. Fresh apples were stored in barrels for use over the winter, sliced and dried, and used in many dishes. Our hearth cooks today will be baking dishes using fresh, sweet cider and heirloom apples from Clarkdale Orchards in Deerfield.
Thanksgiving Dishes November 16, 23, 29 and 30
Come and see how our hearth cooks prepare traditional Thanksgiving dishes on the hearth and over the fire. Learn about the history of harvest celebrations and the evolution of the American Thanksgiving holiday.
All demonstrations held 9:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Hall Tavern Kitchen
