July 20 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm EDT

beecher stowe

Join us for a delightful Children’s Hour planned from 1:15 to 2:15 pm. During this time, there will be arts and crafts activities, followed by a story reading session from 1:45 – 2:15 pm featuring the books “Julián is a Mermaid” and “Hair Love.”

  • Julián is a Mermaid written by Jessica Love. Julián, inspired by mermaids he sees on the subway, dreams of dressing up like them. The book celebrates self-love and imagination.
  • Hair Love written by Matthew A. Cherry. A father learns to style his daughter’s hair, celebrating family bonds and self-confidence. Adapted into an Oscar-winning animated short film.

We hope families enjoy both the creative activities and the inspiring stories during this special hour!

Please consider staying to join the Inheriting Freedom: An Intergenerational Tour from 2:30 – 3:30 pm.
