Summertime is the best time to visit CTM, visit once or all summer long! CTM will hold activities for all ages! Let CTM help you make memories that will last a lifetime! Activities including– Trolley Rides: Take a trolley ride operated by period dressed motormen on a trolley car dating back to the early 1900’s. Learn historic information about the collection and how the Museum began. Trolley Experiences: Get up close and personal as you climb aboard selected trolleys from the Museum’s incredible collection in the Visitors Center. From streetcars to Interurban cars this is your chance to take the controllers and let your imagination “operate.”  Crafting Station: Make a Motorman Hat, create your own trolley fare ticket & more. Take your new creations home with you for future use. Scavenger Hunt/ISPY- Hunt through the Visitors Center to locate Trolley History answers for a chance to win a trolley fare token. Dress-up Station: Dress up as a Motorman or Conductor! Great Photo op. Fire Truck Museum: View over 15 Fire Trucks dating back to 1923. Learn more about the Fire Truck Museum’s collection along with historic Fire Fighting Equipment. (Admission to Fire Truck Museum is included in the Trolley Museum admission ticket).

NEW!! LEGO Station. CTM is thrilled to announce the grand opening of its LEGO® Station exhibit, an interactive and educational experience for visitors of all ages. The exhibit will officially open to the public on July 2nd and promises to ignite creativity and celebrates the world of LEGO. This station is designed to enhance the visitor experience and provide deeper insights into the creative process behind these beloved bricks. Creations stay at the Museum for display and for a chance to win a prize at the end of summer. This activity in included in your admission.

LEGO Workshop- Friday, July 12th & Friday, August 16th from 10am-12:30pm. Students will build a LEGO trolley using a pre-made kit (Holiday Tree Ornament) instructed by a Museum Master Builder. Students can take their LEGO Model home with them at the end of the workshop. Including with the workshop is an age-appropriate tour, trolley ride & snack. The workshop is geared towards ages 8-12 and cost $25 per person ($15 for Museum Members) which includes admission. Storytime Trolley: Featuring stories about the adventures of trolleys and trains. The reading will be inside one of our historic trolleys and a trolley ride will follow. Every story is different, and all ages are welcome! Storytime is included with paid general admission. Stories will be read every Tuesday and Thursday at 11am starting the week of July 2nd and throughout the summer.

We love our community & neighbors and want to make up for the lack of Summer at the Museums this year, we are offering half off admission to residents of the following towns (a week at a time). July 2nd – July 7th- Town of East Windsor, July 9th-July 14th- Town of Windsor Locks, July 16th- 21st- Town of Suffield, July 23rd-July 28th- Town of Ellington, July 30th- Aug 4th- Town of Somers, August 6th- August 11th- Town of Windsor, August 13th- August 18th- Town of Enfield, August 20th-August 25th- Town of South Windsor & August 27th- Sept 1st- Town of East Granby. Not valid on Special Events Days.

Summer Evening Hours- Enjoy a beautiful evening ride and the entire Museum every Saturday night through the summer starting Saturday, July 6th and ending on Saturday, August 31st from 5pm-8pm.

Dino-Trolley- July 20th & 21stIf your child is fascinated by Dinosaurs, then Dino-Trolley is the event for you. Dino-Trolley will be held on July 20th & 21st from 10am-6pm (last ticket being sold at 4:30pm).
All activities will be on-going throughout the day including: Dino Hunt-Search for dinosaurs while on board a safari trolley. Dinosaurs will be stationed in the woods along the railway; can you spot them as the trolley goes by? Our trolley crew will slow down to give you time to spot them, as well as narrative. (These dinosaurs are not robotic, they are non-moving dinosaurs). Fossil Dig Station- Dig and explore fossils while playing a paleontologist. I-Spy Scavenger Hunt- Search for dinosaurs throughout the Visitor Center to earn a prize. Dinosaur Craft-Make & Take home a dinosaur trolley craft. Dinosaur Photo Op- Take a picture with an 8ft interactive Tyrannosaurs Rex (extra charge). Dino Egg Hunt- Can you find dinosaurs eggs hidden around the campus- find an egg to redeem for a prize. Photo Station- Take a picture with your group to remember Dino-Trolley! Admission prices are $13 for ages 2 and up, under 2 is free and will have to sit on an adult lap during the trolley ride. Museum Members receive half off admission. Tickets must be made in advance at www.ct-trolley.org.

Super Hero & Princess DayAugust 17th– Dress up as your favorite Super Hero or Princess and join the Museum for a fun memorable day. A surprise Super Hero & Princess will be roaming the grounds from 11am-3pm. Make your own Super Hero Mask or Princess Crown. DazzleDay Face Painters will be on-site from 11:30am-3pm to create a special design for each child. All activities and Fire Truck Museum entrance is included with your admission price. $13 for Adults, $12 for ages 12-17, $11 for ages 2-11, 2 and under Free. Museum Members half off admission. Visitors can purchase tickets when they arrive at the Museum.

Non-Event admission prices are $12 for Adults, $11 for Seniors (62+), $11 for Youth (ages 12-17), Children (ages 2-11) $9, children under 2 and Museum Members free. The Connecticut Trolley Museum is located at 58 North Road (Rt. 140) and is 15 minutes north of Hartford and 15 minutes south of Springfield.

Take a trolley ride operated by period dressed motormen.  Learn historic information about each car you ride and how the museum began.  Inside the Visitor Center you will find more static trolley cars and artifacts, a theater showing a kids Easter movie and a gift shop to buy that ‘special’ souvenir. On the same grounds is the Connecticut Fire Museum complete with antique fire trucks and apparatus. All activities and Fire Truck Museum entrance is included with your admission price.
