Connecticut Science Center members, students, and the public are welcome to participate in the “Gingerboard” house construction challenge. Participants are encouraged to create their own unique gingerbread-style house using cardboard and recycled materials and submit it for display in the Connecticut Science Center galleries. Enter the competition online to showcase your creative talent.
Participants are tasked with crafting their own cardboard holiday house, following the simple guidelines of not exceeding 24 inches in width and length and utilizing solely recycled or upcycled materials. The options for structure design are wide open, but no perishable, food, or odor-emitting materials nor live animals are permitted. To decorate and embellish, any art supplies such as paint, markers, or crayons are acceptable, but the final product must be self-supporting and durable.
