Amelia Park Children’s Museum, Stem in Space

April 8 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm EDT

Join us on Monday, April 8 for an afternoon at the museum, designed especially for elementary-aged students!

We will spend the afternoon rotating through guided astronomy-related STEM activities, curated for young students. Learn about stars, nebula, asteroids, and moons! This exciting event is an opportunity to connect with current NASA science research and explore Earth and space phenomena. Make your own spin-art nebula, explore star formation, discuss what it might be like to mine an asteroid, and much more!

This event is designed especially for children ages 4.5 to 10 as is not suitable for children under 4. A quiet play area with books, coloring sheets, and STEM activities will be available for siblings and friends under 4 who can not stay home. Permanent museum exhibits will not be accessible during this program.

Children must be accompanied by an adult. Pre-registration is required.

Attendees are invited to arrive early beginning at 3:15 PM to witness the solar eclipse if desired. Eclipse glasses are available in limited quantities.

This program is presented with materials from the Explore Science: Earth & Space Project led by Arizona State University in collaboration with the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA). Explore Science: Earth & Space toolkits were developed and distributed nationwide by the National Informal STEM Education Network (NISE Net).

This event is free for APCM members.
