5 Great Places to see Basketball Stars during Enshrinement Week

If you want to see a celebrity in Western Mass, September would be the time to do it. Springfield, the birthplace of basketball, celebrates the annual Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement every September. If you can’t buy a ticket to the show, you can always watch for free. You might sneak a peak of Charles Barkley or Larry Bird who are regulars to the event! We aren’t the paparazzi, but if we were, these are the places that the public has reported to see a star or two.

1. Court Square -

On Friday, September 6th a procession of Rolls-Royce’s will roll into downtown Springfield for the Basketball Hall of Fame’s Enshrinement Ceremony at Symphony Hall. Plan your day accordingly, and don’t miss seeing the stars walk the red carpet! If you stand in Court Square you will have a front-row seat to the show.

2. MGM Springfield -

Hang-out in the lobby of MGM Springfield and enjoy a cocktail at the Lobby Bar. Relax and watch the basketball celebrities check into their rooms. If you don’t feel like sitting, take a walk around the casino, and you will surely see a familiar face.

3. Basketball Hall of Fame Restaurants -

On Thursday, September 5th there is an autograph signing with the 2019 Hoop Hall inductees and a ‘Family Dinner’ on Friday. If you need a place to enjoy a Thirsty Thursday or Finally Friday stop by and potentially see a basketball great right up close!

4. Adolfo’s –

Larry Bird has been known to eat at Adolfo’s Italian restaurant on Worthington Street every year during Enshrinement week. He’s not the only one that enjoys impressive Italian cuisine!

5. Symphony Hall –

The absolute best place for a brush with basketball greatness is the actual Enshrinement Ceremony at Symphony Hall. Seats are available starting at just $99 and there isn’t a bad seat in the house! Each inductee is presented by a current Hall of Famer so there’s plenty of basketball royalty on hand. Check out the remaining tickets at hoophall.com.
