FAMILY FUN: SPOOKY ADVENTURES FOR ALL AGES

Pumpkin Patch at the Connecticut Trolley Museum (weekends in Oct.): A fun filled adventure where you ride on a trolley car out to the pumpkin patch field and each child can pick out a FREE sugar-sized Pumpkin. Plus the kiddos can decorate pumpkins, play in the corn box, enjoy the outside play area, and the museum exhibits and displays. 

Halloween Celebration at Yankee Candle Village (weekends in Oct.): Fall fun each weekend including  Free crafts, scavenger hunts, raffles games and so much more! See the full schedule of activities here and plan ahead for Trick or Treating around the Village on 10/19-20.

Kids Boo Fest at Six Flags New England (weekends in Oct.): Daylight family fun including Looney Tunes™ character fun at 4 O’Clock Rock and Block Party, Family Bingo, Pie Eating Contest, Jam along with Trash Tones, trash cans & bucket drummers and tap dancers, Gargantuan Games alongside larger than life stilt walkers, Glow A GoGo – a celebration of Peace, Love, Unity, and Respect with sick beats, bubbles, foam cannons, dancing and more. Trick or Treat Trail around the park and of course, explore all your family favorite coasters and park rides. 

Annual Granville Harvest Fair (10/12-14): A big deal for this little town with fun such as vendors, artisans and food, and live music Saturday and Sunday. Plus The Noble & Cooley Center for Historic Preservation museum and Gift Shop will be open.

PumpkinFest in Westfield (10/19): Don’t miss this 7th Annual PUMPKIN-TACULAR event with pumpkin carving and decorating, trunk or treating, 150 local businesses and nonprofits, lots of roving entertainment and kids activities, all day performances, Big Rig Rally, food trucks, and much more!

5k Fall Foliage And Cider Run in Amherst (10/19): A community celebration of Amherst A Better Chance, a residential high school program that prepares academically talented young men of color from educationally underserved school districts for college and future leadership roles. Run or walk, plus enjoy a cup of cider at the finish line! 

Frightening Family Photos at Wistariahurst Museum (10/20): Gather your loved ones and step into the historic mansion for a 20-minute photo session in the ghoulishly decorated halls with dead-icated staff and volunteers capturing frightful photos of you and your loved ones. Professional photographers are not available, so bring your camera or phone. Don’t let this chilling opportunity slip through your fingers, book your time slot before they sell out! 

Halloween at Silver Bell Farm (10/26): The farm transforms into a magical realm, visited by friendly supernatural creatures. If you’re in the know and use the magic words, delightful treats await you! Gather your Trick-or-Treating crew and set off on a thrilling Story Walk across the farm, navigate the 1.5-mile corn maze, enjoy sweet treats, and delve into the pages of Farmer Mike’s latest book, ‘Halloween on the Farm.

Jack-Row-Lantern with the Pioneer Valley Riverfront Club (10/26): This open house and fun regatta is an introduction to water sports and the joys of the river to folks who may want to give rowing and kayaking a try.

Spooky Safari at The Zoo in Forest Park (10/26): Come dressed in costume for this annual family-friendly event complete with a trick-or-treat trail for kids ages 0-12, on-site activities, crafts, music, and appearances from some special friends! Also features a virtual costume contest and a pumpkin hunt around The Zoo.

National Chocolate Day at Richardson’s Candy Kitchen (10/26-28): Celebrate all things chocolate at this local candy store. 

Witches’ Ball at Champney’s Restaurant at the Deerfield Inn (10/27): Enjoy a Halloween Buffet with yummy items such as Lumberjack Fingers, Eyeball Pasta, Ghost Pizza, Toxic Waste Mac & Cheese, Worms in Dirt, and a variety of Witches’ Favorite Cupcakes (full lunch menu also available). Enjoy live kids’ music & sing-along with Tom Carroll & Laurie Davidson too and don’t forget to go dressed in your Halloween best. Reservations suggested.

Trunk of Treat for Charity (10/27): This 4th annual afternoon of fun is hosted by Fitness First, Dazzle Studio of Dance, and Visual Sound Productions. Candy, games, music, food truck, prizes, & more. Plus they’re inviting you to bring non-perishable food items to donate.

Deerfield After Dark – Historic Ghost Walk with Historic Deerfield (10/11): A guided spooky walk through the village, you’ll encounter historical storytellers waiting in doorways and on back porches to tell you some juicy village gossip and ghost stories. Ending at the Deerfield Inn—the most haunted building in the village! 

Brew + Cider Fest at Berkshire East (10/13): Featuring over 50 beers and ciders, food stands including giant pretzels, made to order hearthstone pizzas, homemade ice cream, and live music with Whatever, Nevermind. Plus mountain coaster rides, scenic chair lift rides, and other activities too. 

Curse of the Rails at Connecticut Trolley Museum (Fri. & Sat. in Oct.): Haunting echoes of the past and horrifying tales await on this unforgettable “investigation”. Beginning in the theater for an investigation briefing, then journey on a haunted trolley accompanied by Deadalus Paranormal staff, and even disembark at various points to explore investigation sites on foot. With each twist and turn, encounter ghostly apparitions and blood-curdling legends that’ll leave you questioning what’s real and what’s supernatural. 

Nightmare Acres at Nomads Adventure Quest (Fri.-Sun. in Oct.): This outdoor haunted attraction is where your worst nightmares become reality! Terror is alive and well and tickets WILL go fast and sell out. Don’t lose your head – plan ahead instead. 

Fear on the Farm at McCray’s Farm  (Fri.-Sun. in Oct.): Lots of fear to go around including the Monster Mash Haunted Hayride, Massacre Manor and The D.O.N.G.R.F (Diagnostic, Operations, Nexus Genetic Research Facility). 

Phantoms by Firelight at Old Sturbridge Village (Fri.-Sun. in Oct.): As twilight descends, the veil between the living and the spectral world thins. With new and mesmerizing performances this year’s event promises to be the most haunting yet. Spine-tingling thrills and ghostly delights including the origins of Halloween, hair-raising games, and chilling ghost stories around a roaring bonfire. 

Spirits Speak at Wistariahurst Museum (10/25): As All Hallows’ Eve approaches and the nights grow darker, peer behind the veil and explore the eerie depths of Wistariahurst Museum. At this spine-chilling night of ghostly adventures you’ll dive into a paranormal investigation inside their halls, learn about essential ghost-hunting equipment and, perhaps, even hear whispers from those who linger in the shadows of the museum.

Historic Trades Demonstrations of Gravestones at Historic Deerfield (10/26): This all-day event of immersion in the world of graveyards and gravestones, featuring demonstrations, tours, and a lecture!

Powder Hollow Brewery’s Hollow-Ween Party (10/26): The third annual spook-tacular evening includes a costume contest for a chance to win fabulous prizes, live music with The Bigfoot Diaries, delicious baked goods by the talented Jojo’s Cookies and Canelés, plus more ghoulishly good times announced as it comes closer. 

Halloween in the Hangars Brew Fest at The New England Air Museum (10/26): This extraordinary experience showcases local breweries, live music, and food trucks, all inside a massive hangar, which houses an impressive collection of 80 historic aircraft. 

Boos & Brews at the Springfield Thunderbirds (10/26): Before the T-birds take on the Hershey Bears, enjoy this pregame Beer Tasting Event presented by Loophole Brewing & Easy Company Brewing on the concourse. 

Halloween Party at Berkshire East (10/26): The annual Halloween Party at The Crazy Horse Bar & Grill with live music with Lakeside Drive and a costume contest with cash prize. No cover charge and open to the public!
