Wistariahurst Museum, Sensory Friendly Egg Hunt

Wistariahurst Museum is egg-static to bring back our Sensory-Friendly Egg Hunt for a second year!

This festive egg hunt focuses on gentle exploration and enjoyment. Designed for families with sensory sensitivities, this egg-ceptional event is tailored so every bunny feels comfortable and welcome. This year’s egg hunt will take place indoors throughout the halls of Wistariahurst. Weather permitting, outdoor games and activities will add some egg-stra fun to the event.

Each child can gather six eggs and choose prizes ranging from candy to fidget toys. Hop to it and register for one of the available time slots. Registration is available on Wistariahurst’s Eventbrite page. Museum Director Megan Seiler hatched the idea for Wistariahurst’s Sensory Friendly Egg Hunt in 2024. “We saw an opportunity for the museum to offer this city tradition to kids who may not thrive at the large-scale egg hunt downtown. We wanted to be a space that could offer more inclusion for this fun event,” Seiler noted. Wistariahurst is egg-cited to bring this event back for April of this year after the success of last year’s egg hunt.

Families can sign up for timed entry to ensure smooth check-in between 11:00 am and 1:00 pm on Sunday, April 13th. Families are welcome to enjoy the egg hunt any time during their timeslots, and each time slot will be limited to 10 families. The egg hunt will continue until 1:30 pm, allowing children to explore at their own pace and enjoy a stress-free experience! Families are welcome to explore the gardens and enjoy outdoor games, weather permitting, during the event. Outside of this event, we have open hours on Mondays from 10:00 am-2:00 pm and Tuesdays from 4:30 pm-6:30 pm, and our gardens are open
