Volleyball Hall of Fame, Morgan Classic
February 1 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm
An event every day that begins at 6:00 pm, repeating until February 2, 2019
In 1895, William G. Morgan invented the game of volleyball at the YMCA in Holyoke, MA. The game received its name during the first public exhibition at what is now Springfield College.
The International Volleyball Hall of Fame honors this pivotal occasion in the sports history with the Morgan Classic. This annual event kicks off with a tournament of the top collegiate talent on Friday night.
Morgan’s legacy of sport development and education continues on Saturday from 9:00am–1:30pm in clinics for players and coaches, led by the four tournament teams.
The Classic weekend activities culminate at the tournament championship match Saturday night, where the winners from the Friday night matches battle it out for the annual Morgan Classic Championship title.
This action-packed weekend commemorates the heritage of our sport, by celebrating its founder and recognizing the talent of our college athletes, given with honor by the International Volleyball Hall of Fame as the launch event of its fundraising year.
Show your support for the Hall and your love of volleyball by attending the Morgan Classic Tournament, participating in the Clinics, or donating directly to the hall.
