Turners Falls, Performance

July 14 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm EDT

RiverCulture, the municipal Arts program of the Town of Montague, is proud to present “Do It Now” on Sunday, July 14 at Peskeompskut Park, Avenue A & Seventh Street in Turners Falls from 2-4pm. Poet laurite Paul Richmond, World Music percussionist Tony Vacca, and Master guitarist John Sheldon create a funkadelic and free-flow concoction of cool Beat Poetry, soaring melodies and irresistible percussion. Equal parts magic carpet ride, mesmerizing sound-web and outspoken words. What these guys do just might be the perfect industrial-strength elixir for our tumultuous times. This fusion of spoken word poetry and music is free and open to the public.

Also at Peskeompskut Park that afternoon will be an independent book fair featuring regional publishers and authors. “It’s a great way to support local writers and pick up your summer reading and gifts” says Paul Richmond.

Donations are appreciated. Bring a lawn chair or a blanket. The rain date for this event is Sunday, July 21. “Do it Now” is sponsored by RiverCulture with financial support from Greenfield Coop Bank and the Mass Cultural Council
