The Springfield Armory, Blank Firing Demonstrations
October 9 @ 9:30 am - 4:00 pm EDT
An event every week that begins at 9:30 am on Saturday, repeating until October 16, 2021
One of the many highlights of working at Springfield Armory is our blank firing demonstrations! On these days, we dress up in period costume and take out some of our historic firearms and give a demonstration on how they are loaded and fired, along with some history behind each firearm.
We don’t blank fire daily, but on the days we do, it brings us back in time to the era when the Armory was operating and workers were milling about. What is your favorite era in history?
We blank fire on most Saturdays, weather permitting, but please call and check so you won’t be disappointed. 413-734-8551.
The museum operating hours are Wednesday through Sunday from 9:30am to 4:00pm. Consistent with CDC recommendations, people who are not fully vaccinated must continue to wear masks indoors and in crowded outdoor spaces. Additional details are available at www.nps.gov/coronavirus. Visitors will be asked to physically distance at a minimum of six feet and #RecreateResonsibly.
