An event every day that begins at 10:30am, repeating until April 18, 2019

Swing into spring at the New England Air Museum with two weeks of hands-on family fun from April 8-12 & 15-18. Daily activities include climb-aboard  experiences in historic aircraft, hands-on Build & Fly Challenges, Flight Science Demonstrations, Computerized Flight Simulators and much more!

Week of April 8-12

LEGO® Brick Flying Machine Contest
Monday, April 8, 2019 – 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Back by popular demand! Children ages 3-13 are invited to construct a flying machine using the Museum’s collection of LEGO® bricks. Winners will be awarded prizes in three age categories, and participants need not be present to win.
Nose Art Design Workshop
Tuesday, April 9, 2019 – 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Learn the history of airplane nose art and design a custom nose art design for our Boeing B-29A Superfortress to take home.
Fun with Frisbees
Wednesday, April 10, 2019 – 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Discover the similarities between frisbees and airplane wings and create a paper plate frisbee to take home.
Constellation Viewers
Thursday, April 11, 2019 – 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Discover the similarities between frisbees and airplane wings and create a paper plate frisbee to take home.
Model Airplane Workshop
Friday, April 12, 2019 – 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. (note special time)
Build and fly balsa wood airplanes with help from our team of expert builders. This workshop is designed for visitors ages 3 and older, and there is a $5.00 cost per model kit.

Straw Rocket Challenge
Monday, April 15, 2019 – 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Are you a rocket scientist? Find out by building and launching a straw rocket using our specialized NEAM rocket launchers.
Kites in Flight
Tuesday, April 16, 2019 – 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Create a mini paper kite and take it for an indoor flight in our exhibit hangars.
Parachute Drop
Wednesday, April 17, 2019 – 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Learn the science of parachutes while building and launching a weight bearing parachute. Will yours land in the drop zone?
Paper Airplane Challenge
Thursday, April 18, 2019 – 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Use your imagination to construct a far flying paper plane from a variety of materials. Will your creation go the distance?
