MORE INFO AND TICKETS

The New England Air Museum will be holding a new series of programs for adults: Adult Aerospace Academy.  In January and February, the museum will run four different Adult Aerospace Academy programs. The series will kick off with Demystifying Flight on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 from 10AM – 12PM. This program will cover all flight related questions – ever wonder how airplanes fly? What pilots are seeing in the cockpit? Why our ears pop on take-off? Demystifying Flight gives a basic understanding of flight science, aircraft, and the flying experience, and is designed for adults without any previous aerospace experience. This program will also be held on Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 1PM – 3PM.

“Crazy Man of the Air” – Early Flight will take place on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 10AM – 12PM and will discuss early stunt and acrobatic pilots, including Connecticut’s own stunt pilot – Charles K. Hamilton. The lecture will be followed by a tour of the museum’s early flight collection – from 19th century balloons to 1920s biplanes.

Visitors will be transported back to the 1930s and 1940s for Golden Age of Aviation on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, from 10AM – 12PM. This program will start with a history of flight attendants, and move into a tour of the museum’s racing and commercial aircraft of the 1930s and 1940s.

The final program for this first series will take place on Tuesday, February 28, 2023, from 10AM – 12PM: Warbirds of World War II. Members of the museum’s restoration team will discuss the process of restoring several of the museum’s World War II aircraft, including the Boeing B-29 ‘Superfortress.’ This will be followed by a highlights tour of the museum’s warbirds.

All programs are $25 per person, and admission to the museum is free for all attendees. For more information and to sign up, please visit www.neam.org.
