Join us for a variety of family friendly activities every weekend. All Flights of Fun Family Programs are included with museum admission and schedules are subject to change.

Summer at the Museum 2022

The New England Air Museum was recently awarded a grant from Connecticut Humanities to support our participation in the CT Summer at the Museum initiative. All Connecticut children 18 and under will be admitted free to the museum with one accompanying adult. This program runs July 1 – September 5, 2022.

NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED.

Restrictions apply. Only one free adult per household. Proof of residency required.

SCAVENGER HUNTS

9:00am-4:00pm

Explore the museum and earn a prize from our Gift Shop. Reader and non-reader versions are available for visitors of all ages to enjoy.

FLIGHT SIMULATORS

9:00am-4:00pm

Take to the virtual skies using our computerized flight simulators. Visitors are encouraged to use hand sanitizer prior to participating.

OPEN COCKPIT EXPERIENCES

10:30am-2:30pm

Available upon request, visitors can climb inside select historic aircraft and learn the fundamentals of flight from museum volunteers. Visitors are encouraged to use hand sanitizer prior to entering aircraft cockpits.

BUILD AND FLY CHALLENGES

10:30am-2:30pm

Hands-on activities for youth and families featuring a different take-home activity every day. Visitors are encouraged to use hand sanitizer prior to participating.

FLIGHT SCIENCE DEMONSTRATIONS

11:00am, 12:00pm, 1:00pm, 2:00pm

Discover the science of flight with interactive demonstrations led by the museum’s Public Programs Team.
