Springfield Museums, Stars over Springfield

May 3 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm EDT

Join us for a beginner’s astronomy program featuring a short talk by a local expert, hands-on activities or demonstrations, a planetarium show with our historic Korkosz starball and brand-new Zeiss projector, and stargazing in our rooftop observatory. Recommended for ages 8 and older.

This Month’s Topic: Atmospheric Splendors
You can practice at any time of day, any time of year!  Learn what interesting phenomenon can be observed right inside our own atmosphere, from super common to rare. Learn about sundogs, crepuscular rays, rainbows, and many more.

Observatory

The Stars over Springfield program is organized by the Museums in partnership with the Springfield Stars Club. The program takes place on the first Friday of each month, from 7-8:30 pm.

Stars over Springfield is best suited for families with children ages 8 and older, however younger children are also welcome.
