Springfield Museums, Stars over Springfield

December 1 @ 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm EST

Join us for a beginner’s astronomy program featuring a short talk by a local expert, hands-on activities or demonstrations, a planetarium show with our historic Korkosz starball and brand-new Zeiss projector, and stargazing in our rooftop observatory. Recommended for ages 8 and older.

This Month’s Topic: Comets
This month marks the aphelion of Halley’s Comet, or the furthest away from the Earth that the comet will travel. It is now heading back our way! Hear about this from a local expert, and how to distinguish comets from other objects in our night sky.
