Springfield Museums, Planetarium Centennial

October 21 @ 11:00 am - 3:00 pm EDT

The modern planetarium was invented 100 years ago by the Zeiss Corporation in Germany. Our Korkosz planetarium projector is a big part of that history. Built here by Frank and John Korkosz, it is the oldest operating American-made projector and the second one ever built in America.

Come to the Science Museum this day for a celebration to include a special planetarium show, a talk by Astronomy Magazine columnist Phil Harrington, telescope demonstrations, and hands-on activities. Free with museum admission!
