Springfield Museums, Garden Club Annual Plant Sale
May 18 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm
The Springfield Garden Club Annual Plant Sale takes place from 9 a.m. to noon on the campus of the Springfield Museums, 21 Edwards St. The sale will take place rain or shine and include a “premium plant” table selling larger plants, baskets and shrubs.
A spring tradition and the club’s major scholarship fundraiser, the plant sale will offer a wide selection of plants and an auction of exceptional plants. In addition, garden club members will be available to offer gardening advice.
Funds raised from the plant sale will be used for a scholarship. The Springfield Garden Club has awarded more than $68,000 in scholarships to students in the last 30 years.
The club awards an annual scholarship to Hampden County undergraduate, graduate students and graduating high school seniors who are majoring in or have been accepted to major in a plant sciences or environmental studies program such as horticulture, floriculture, landscape design, conservation, forestry, botany, agronomy, plant pathology, environmental control, land management or other allied fields.
Organized in 1917 and a member of the Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts since 1928, The Springfield Garden Club works to create interest in the art of gardening, stimulate the promotion of civic beauty through horticulture and conservation and encourage the appreciation of the visual art of designing with plant material.
