
Old Sturbridge Village, Women’s History Weekend

Highlights include:
- Learn about the stories of famous Women’s Rights activists and Abolitionists like Catherine Beecher and Angeline Grimke
- Visit the Bixby House to learn about how ladies in this family braided rye straw for hats and bonnets, stitched shoe uppers, and did dairying to supplement the family’s income.
- See demonstrations of a wide variety of tasks including piecing a quilt, skilled sewing, bookbinding, dairying, hearth cooking, and more.
- See a first-person portrayal of a maternal society tea and of a 19th-century midwife
- Hear the stories of 19th-century women missionaries

Cost: Included with standard daytime admission or Village membership. Standard daytime admission is $28 for adults, $26 for seniors (55+), $14 for youth (4-17), $14 for college students (with a valid college ID), and free for children 3 and under.
