Norman Rockwell Museum, A Night of Wonder Gala

June 10, 2023 @ 6:00 pm - 10:00 pm EDT

temp rockwell gala

Mystery, magic, music, time travel, and who knows, maybe a sea monster! Join us in your best costume suitable for time travel, or come as you are to enjoy small plates, cocktails.

Norman Rockwell Museum’s annual fundraising gala will offer a sparkling night of the unexpected, the mysterious, the coincidental, the puzzling, the unique, the surprising, the impossible, the unforgettable.

A wondrous world inspired by the art of Tony Sarg, master showman, illustrator, and puppeteer, whose exhibition is featured this summer and fall. Creative cuisine, mystical drinks, parades, performances, and puzzles. Costumes that reflect flights of fancy and imagination encouraged. All under a tent and on the magnificent grounds of Norman Rockwell Museum.

A special music performance by Tony/Academy Award/Pulitzer Prize nominee Bob Telson and Friends will be featured.

Bob Telson and Friends is a special ensemble coming together for this event. Bob Telson, a classically trained American composer and multi-instrumentalist, has been nominated for a Pulitzer Prize, an Academy Award, and a Tony Award. His work is a compendium of world music styles and has been recorded by Barbra Streisand, Celine Dion, Natalie Cole, Jeff Buckley, George Benson, Joe Cocker, Etta James, k.d. lang, Shawn Colvin, Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa, George Michael, and The Five Blind Boys of Alabama. Joining Telson will be Jazz and Brazilian music vocalist, songwriter, producer, and recording artist Maria Puga Lareo, and Uruguayan singer, songwriter, and Latin Grammy Award nominee Julieta Rada. Juan Chiavassa, who has performed on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon with rap superstar and multi-Grammy-winning artist Residente and Bad Bunny, will accompany on drums. Bob Sheppard, an in-demand saxophonist and woodwind player who has worked with a wide variety of artists, including Freddie Hubbard, Billy Childs, Chick Corea, Peter Erskine, Steely Dan, Joni Mitchell, and Neil Young, will be the final addition to the ensemble. The group will be performing new material as well as Telson’s classics.
