West Springfield Tartan
The colorful wool tartan finely weaves together shades of blue, purple, yellow, green and red in a nod to the West Springfield community and the flags of the six New England states. The fabric, created for ESE’s centennial celebration in 2016, also reflects upon the 100-year history of the Exposition.
The textile was designed and developed in Scotland through the instrumental assistance and determination of West Springfield resident, Gerry Healy. The material is internationally recognized by the Scottish Register of Tartans (certificate #11459), and a swatch is archived for permanent preservation in the National Records of Scotland.
Proceeds benefit the ESE Fund, which supports ESE’s agricultural and educational programming and historic preservation efforts. Products made from the tartan fabric are sold in the Eastern States Farmers Market or below.
