Be a part of a tradition that began over a 100 years ago!
Greenfield Winter Carnival returns for its 103rd anniversary, with a Polar Playground Celebration. Nothing says tradition in Greenfield like Winter Carnival. Since its very beginnings, this event has brought the community together in a celebration of the season.
A weekend full of activities is sure to warm the spirit of the entire community. Kicking off the weekend is live downtown ice carving, followed by the illuminating Parade of Lights that travels through picturesque Main Street, as well as the Polar Patio outdoor bar at Mesa Verde and Downtown Defrost on Court Square with Fire Performers and Fire Barrels. Festivities continue at Beacon Field with music, sledding, and warming fire, followed by fireworks bursting over the iconic Poet’s Seat Tower.
The fun continues throughout the weekend with a a puzzle contest, Science show, cribbage tournament, Glow Party, cookies with Olaf, cardboard sled race, vintage snowmobile show, K9 Keg Pull, Chili Cook-Off, and so much more! It’s a true family favorite.

Greenfield’s 103rd Winter Carnival scheduled to kick off on Friday has been postponed to Saturday due to inclement weather.
The parade and fireworks scheduled for this Friday have been moved to Saturday. The parade of lights steps off at 6 p.m. with decorated vehicles that will travel from Newton School lot processing along Shelburne Road to Mohawk Trail / Main Street, Federal Street, Beacon Street, crossing High Street at Beacon Street, Gerrett Street to Beacon Field. Following the parade, a fireworks display will light up in the night sky at Beacon Field at 7 p.m. from Poet’s Seat Tower.
