FREEDOM DAY
Celebrate Juneteenth: Freedom Day at the Connecticut Science Center with a day of discovery, learning, exploration, and fun! We invite guests of all ages to explore the rich history and significance of Juneteenth through interactive exhibits, engaging workshops, and inspiring presentations. Enjoy hands-on activities that delve into science, technology, and culture, while also learning about the contributions of Black scientists, inventors, and leaders. The day will feature guest speakers, live demonstrations, and collaborative projects designed to foster curiosity and understanding. Join us for a meaningful and educational celebration that honors freedom and embraces the spirit of community and inclusion. Everyone pays kids’ price for general admission.
ENGAGING ACTIVITIES:
- The Store | 10AM-3PM | A curated creator shopping experience featuring a diverse array of products and services
- Freedom: Patent Pending | 2-3PM | Spoken word and open mic for poets & storytellers.
- *WORKSHOP: Coping and Hoping Together – Healing Racial Trauma in Black Communities (18+) | 10:30AM-12PM | Learn key concepts related to racial trauma and explore racially driven health disparities affecting Black communities.
- *WORKSHOP: STEM Careers | 2-3PM | Learn about a variety of STEM careers and engage in STEM activities led by STEM professionals.
- Music, Demonstrations, Food, and more | 10AM-3PM | A whole day of celebration.
