Step into the past at the Wilder Homestead and sample activities from the Colonial Era.

Open Hearth Cooking, Farm Animals, Spinning, Cross Stitching, Music of the 1700’s, Cider Pressing, and Morris Dancers Tour through the Saltbox Home Museum, the Shoemaker Shop And View the progress of the 1780 English Barn Restoration.

The Wilder Homestead: 129 Rt. 112, Buckland, MA Tour the furnished 1795 Saltbox Home with five fireplaces, the 1780 English Barn which is 90% restored, and the circa 1820 Shoemaker Shop, where boots could be bartered for with bushels of apples, cords of wood, or in one case, the work of digging a grave.

The Buckland Historical Society Museum: 20 Upper St., Buckland Center, MA Enjoy this former school house of the Greek Revival style which now houses three floors of artifacts and town records. You’ll see exhibits on Local Industry, Clothing, Education featuring Mary Lyon, Local Artists Robert Strong Woodward and Edward Romanzo Elmer, as well, as the tragic life of Josiah Spaulding.
