Berkshire East, Thunder Mountain Bike Park

This season we are excited to offer a variety of new clinics for mountain bikers of all abilities. Typical group sizes range from two to six participants. Clinics do not include a lift ticket, however they can be purchased for a discounted rate at checkout.

Kids Jumps and Drops (Ages 10-16)

6.5 hours. Intermediate/Advanced

Whether your child already loves getting in the air or has never hit a bike park jump, this is the day of riding they will talk about all week long. The Kids Jumps and Drops clinic will teach your child the fundamentals of pumping, jumping and drops. Groups will split based on ability and experience. Typical group sizes range from two to six participants.

Cornering Progression (Ages 17+)

6.5 hours. Intermediate/Advanced

Whether you are a new rider or a seasoned bike park veteran, we all can use cornering practice. This clinic will take place on mostly blue rated trails. Topics will include, maintaining speed in berms, how to ride flat corners and cornering on technical trails. Advanced groups will explore topics such as generating speed in corners.Typical group sizes range from two to six participants. Groups will be split based on ability.

Intermediate Jumps and Drops (Ages 17+)

6.5 hours. Intermediate

Are you new to jumping and want to gain confidence on blue jump trails? Do you regularly hit jumps and drops but want a fresh set of eyes to look at your form. This clinic will take your air abilities to the next level. Come learn proper drop and jumping technique that will carry through to the rest of your riding career. Typical group sizes range from two to six participants. Groups will be split by ability. We recommend taking our Cornering Progression Clinic prior to the Jumps and Drops Clinic.

Roots and Rocks (Ages 17+)

6.5 hours. Intermediate/Advanced

Our adult Roots and Rocks clinic is for those who embrace raw New England tech. During this full day of riding we will focus on topics such as line choice, maintaining grip, picking braking points, carrying momentum and even finding speed on technical trails. Groups will split based on ability and typically max out at a 5:1 coaching ratio. Intermediate groups will spend most of the day riding blue rated trails while the advanced group will venture onto black and double black rated terrain. Join us for a day of classic bike park riding!

Thunder Mountain Bike Park is one of the best parks on the East Coast and is always being updated with new trails and additions. We also have lessons if you want our trained guides and instructors to assist you no matter the age and ability.

Thunder Mountain Bike Park is a gravity downhill mountain bike park. Riders take the chair lift up and ride down purpose-built trails that range from introductory green trails to Pro-Line jump paths. This style of riding is best suited for particular bicycles and gear. We have some of the best bikes on the market available to rent if you need the equipment.
