Ashfield, Fall Festival

October 8, 2023 @ 10:00 am - 5:00 pm EDT

The beloved Ashfield Fall Festival takes place throughout the town center and features fun for the whole family including nearly 50 artisans and crafters, local food, games, and live music.

Set in the picturesque hill town of Ashfield, attendees will be surrounded by rolling hills painted with the colors of fall. Guests can shop from exhibitors featuring paintings, pottery, handcrafted jewelry, woodworking, textiles and so much more. For those looking to enjoy a seasonal sweet fall treat or savory snack, some offerings include apple pie, crawfish pasta, chili, and the festival favorite fried dough with maple cream. After a bite to eat, relax on the hill of the town common while enjoying live music from various artists or play a variety of low cost children’s games.

At noon Saturday anyone may join a team for some friendly competition in the annual “Pumpkingames”. Attendees can participate in activities such as pumpkin bowling, the pumpkin relay race, and musical pumpkins.

The Ashfield Fall Festival began in 1970. While it has grown since that time, the festival remains

  • A celebration of Ashfield
  • A showcase for Ashfield artisans and businesses
  • A place for Ashfield service organizations to raise funds
  • A fundraiser for the Ashfield Citizens’ Scholarship Fund
  • An opportunity for Ashfield youth to develop and use creative, social and business skills

Fall in Massachusetts

You won’t want to miss the glorious fall foliage in Massachusetts. From the iconic scenery of the Berkshires to the charming small towns you’ll find across the state, there is plenty to do and see this autumn.

The season starts in mid-to-late September, and peak color often coincides with Columbus Day weekend. In 2023, leaves will start to change at the end of September and we’ll see peak foliage in much of Massachusetts during the first week of October – but you should be able to see pretty colors throughout the state until Halloween.
