Adventure East, Sunderland Islands Cold Weather Paddling Clinic

November 12 @ 11:00 am - 12:30 pm EST

This is a gentle loop from the Sunderland Boat Ramp access around Sunderland Islands Wildlife Management Area – First Island and Second Island. This excursion is a good introduction to upstream paddling and exploring a mid-river island where there are nesting bald eagles.

Join one of our Paddling Guides, Dan Finn, who will present an overview of different gear and essentials necessary for safe and comfortable cold weather paddling. We’ll have you suit up in wetsuits and Neoprene booties (that we provide!) before setting off on a paddle around the Sunderland Islands, where we will have an opportunity to enjoy the vivid, fall scenery. Stopping at the 2nd Island, we’ll have an outback cooking demo and have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious, light lunch before heading back. This will be a lovely – and informative – way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
